Developer Product Marketing Manager, Google Play, (South Korea)
As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.
Developer Marketing is focused on driving the success of Google's developer platforms, such as Android, by delivering global, scalable programs, events and creative marketing campaigns to engage developers. Google Play developer marketing is focused on building successful apps and games businesses on Play - helping developers build commercially viable consumer offerings with our products, Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and tools.
You will have a passion for apps and games business models and an understanding of how developers use our APIs and tools to achieve business growth. You will communicate with existing developers and new Android developers and encourage them to innovate and grow their businesses.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for your devices, powered by the cloud. It’s a Google approach to entertainment, syncing magically across your devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping the product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team helps strengthen the overall Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
•Conceptualize creative solutions and deliver integrated marketing campaigns and programs to drive strategic business goals and engagement of new/existing Google Play products, APIs and tools.
•Integrate existing Google Play products, APIs and tools into a plan to engage new developers.
•Collaborate with Google Play business development team to provide tailored marketing support to existing developers.
•Collaborate with the Android Developer Relations team to provide marketing support to varied developer outreach initiatives. Establish online presence to engage potential developers, existing ecosystems and developer communities.
•Contribute to developer events. Work with PR on messaging/ positioning and manage PR deliverables.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:•BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
•5 years of experience in B2B marketing program management or scaled partner relationship management.
•Ability to speak and write in English and Korean fluently and idiomatically.
Preferred qualifications:•Experience in event content development or management.
•Experience within the apps or gaming industry.
•Experience with developer outreach.
•Ability to develop effective business positioning/messaging for technical products.
•Ability to analyze product, customers and market dynamics.
•Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and analytical skills.
