Lead day-to-day IP operations, providing expert legal and technical counsel to inventors and internal business stakeholders to maximize IP value
Collaborate with business units to assess new inventions, evaluate their strategic fit, and sharpen the IP portfolio to maximize competitive advantage
Partner closely with product development, engineering, and management teams to align IP strategy with business goals and drive innovation success
Manage patent prosecution across national and international jurisdictions, coordinating with local and foreign attorneys
Conduct targeted searches and analyses to identify opportunities and risks that impact business initiatives and product development
Identify and evaluate IP risks and potential infringements, recommending effective actions to safeguard company assets and support business growth
Analyze competitors’ IP activities and monitor markets for potential violations of Schaeffler’s intellectual property and brand
Develop and deliver training programs for engineers on patent search tools and IP processes to build an IP-conscious and empowered workforce
Actively contribute to collaborative Asia-Pacific IP team initiatives and knowledge-sharing to strengthen regional and global IP capabilitie
Your Qualifications
Educational background in mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, mechatronics, automotive, or related fields
Qualified patent agent or attorney licensed to practice before the Korean Patent Office
3-5 years’ experience managing IP within engineering or technology-driven organizations, preferably in-house
Solid knowledge of patent law, including PCT, Korean national law, US law, and other relevant jurisdictions, is essential to effectively manage intellectual property matters
Proficient in English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills for a global work environment
Self - driven with excellent organizational skills; capable of balancing multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
