This role is based in Seoul, Korea. If you are based outside of Korea, applications are due by February 26, 2017 at 11:59pm KST. This internship will typically run for 10-14 consecutive weeks. If you require a work visa, you must be able to intern for a minimum of 4 months in order to qualify for a visa.

Software Engineers at Google are researchers and developers who yearn to create and implement complex computer science solutions. Our engineers develop massively scalable, distributed software systems and also collaborate on multitudes of smaller projects that have universal appeal. This kind of work requires keen research skills, awareness, interactivity, and an inquisitive nature. You build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a technical fascination for how stuff fits together. You will need to have a solid foundation in computer science in order to consistently come up with new ideas, as well as to strive for a deep understanding of our products and services in order to continually improve upon them. We focus on being a collaborative, global organization consisting of engineers with the highest levels of technical depth, programming skills and a keen eye for quality.

 

Responsibilities

•Perform specific responsibilities which will vary by project area.

 

Minimum qualifications

•Currently pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in computer science or a related technical field. Typically within 7 to 12 months of completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or at any stage in your PhD.
•Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages.
•Business level communication in English.

 

Preferred qualifications

•Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
•Knowledge of Unix/Linux environment and APIs.
•Familiarity with TCP/IP and network programming.
