Legal Intern

 

 

You will work as part of a team handling a wide range of legal matters in Korea. You have an understanding of, and interest in, intellectual property and Internet-related laws including content regulation and online commerce.

In this role, you will be responsible for various legal projects including researching case laws closely related to Google’s business or managing key commercial contract templates. You are a law student who thinks creatively and strategically and enjoys working on complex issues. You are eager to pitch in when needed to assist our rapidly growing businesses and you have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment.

 

Some of your responsibilities may include:
•Conducting legal research of statutory and case laws in Korea, US or EMEA, which are related to Google’s key business areas.
•Reviewing Google’s new products to identify legal issues.
•Reviewing Korean draft legislative bills and identifying legal risks that may affect Google’s business.
•Reviewing and editing Google commercial contract templates.
•Translating legal documents between English and Korean.

You will produce high-quality legal research and analysis work in a flexible, fast-paced environment. You'll also demonstrate that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and can communicate confidently at all levels.

 

Responsibilities

•Perform various related tasks and assignments that the in-house Legal Team may request during the Legal Internship.

 

Minimum qualifications

•Enrolled in a recognized LLB course in a Korean or U.S. law school, graduating between June 2017 and December 2018.
•Be able to complete a maximum 16 weeks between December and April 2017 in Google Seoul office. We will accommodate your school schedule when determining the start date and duration.
•Ability to speak and write in English and Korean fluently and idiomatically.

Preferred qualifications

•Leadership role at university and/or external associations.
•Strong interest in recent developments in the field of Internet related laws and knowledge of online technologies and services.
•Excellent legal analysis and research skills.
•Strategic problem solving ability.
•Ability to see both detail and big picture issues.
