General Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end development of color processing algorithms within the Snapdragon ISP pipeline. This includes algorithm design, tuning, validation, and close collaboration with system, sensor, hardware, and IQ teams to deliver production-ready automotive imaging solutions.
This role requires deep expertise in image processing with a strong focus on color science, hands-on ISP algorithm development experience, and the ability to balance image quality, performance, and hardware efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize color processing algorithms for Gen6 ISP platforms
Develop and maintain core ISP color modules, including but not limited to: Auto White Balance (AWB) Color Correction Matrix (CCM) Color Space Conversion (CSC) Gamma & Tone Curve Processing 3D Color Look-Up Table (3D LUT) Color Gamut Mapping Skin Tone Preservation / Enhancement
Perform color tuning and evaluation using objective metrics and subjective image quality assessment
Prototype, evaluate, and validate algorithms on embedded ISP hardware
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (camera system, sensor, optics, hardware, and validation teams) to integrate and release ISP color solutions
Balance color accuracy, stability, latency, and power efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of industry experience in image processing or ISP algorithm development
Strong background in color processing and image signal processing fundamentals
Hands-on development experience with C/C++ (Python experience for prototyping or analysis is a plus)
Solid understanding of color science concepts (color spaces, color transforms, tone curves, white balance)
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ISP color pipelines and real-world tuning workflows
Experience in mobile camera systems, imaging applications
Knowledge of camera sensors, optics, and sensor characterization affecting color behavior
Experience with HDR color processing and cross-illumination color consistency
Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware-accelerated ISP architectures
Educational Requirements
Required: Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience
Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
