Responsibilities

• Conduct legal reviews of Google’s product, marketing and sales initiatives, and respond promptly to a wide range of legal requests from Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Finance and other functional groups.
• Manage regulatory matters and litigation.
• Advise senior management and cross-functional project teams in the Asia Pacific and U.S. with regard to potential legal risks. Ensure compliance with applicable laws across all aspects of Google’s operations in Korea.
• Negotiate and draft a variety of commercial agreements.
• Work with external legal counsel on specific matters ranging from litigation to expert advice requests.

 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or comparable law degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of relevant work experience within the regulatory, intellectual property, media, or technology areas.
• Licensed to practice law in Korea.
• Ability to speak and write in English and Korean fluently and idiomatically.

Preferred qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters, from complex matters to routine/standard matters.
• Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and a sense of humor.
• Well-organized, with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
• Excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
