Primary Responsibilities for Material Requirements Planner:
Creates, validates and maintains a (Purchase) Materials plan based upon the Master Plan.
Ensures the right materials are procured at the right time, quality and quantity to meet customer demands at optimized costs.
Develops and provides expected forecast to suppliers on regular basis for the responsible planning horizon. Obtains supply capability confirmation from suppliers.
Schedules and manages the execution of finished product deliveries against existing contracts or purchase orders.
Lead resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances.
Participates in weekly planning meeting and represents material plans
Communicates with manufacturing, Raw material engineers, purchasing and Master scheduler, Master planning personnel regarding supply problems and their resolutions
Maintain accurate raw material master data including planning parameters (Order quantity, Lead time, Safety stocks)
Execute the plans for non-productive raw materials for disposition. Manage healthy inventory of raw materials and packaging materials.
Provides Master scheduling support when needed by the business
Project the estimated inventory of raw materials by material level
Initiate for the IAR review meeting with relevant functional team to manage the Inventory at risk of raw products.
Develops the weekly Master supply Schedule at the detailed level (disaggregate/SKU) by translating the IBP/S&OP monthly aggregate Plan for the MPS horizon
Maintains and provides valid Available to Promise (ATP) data.
Identify and resolve conflicts with supply and demand and available capacity for the responsible planning horizon
Key interface with sales, demand management, customer service, marketing, contract manufacturing and suppliers for the purpose of satisfying customer requirements and providing policy advocacy to the business.
Key interface back to Master Planner and Suppliers when required.
Leads the continuous improvement of the material planning process
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in material management, supply chain, engineering, or business degree required
3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, supply chain or related field
SAP experience required
APICs CPIM certification preferred
Purchasing experience strongly preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office – especially Excel and PowerPoint
